And they're off!
I've planted the seeds that I received from Megan and Mom. They both sent basil- bless their hearts. (I am more than willing to receive more though folks! I am planning to make a whole whack of pesto this fall- a substance that is as rare in Korea as seeing a giraffe on the streets of Seoul- I'm even considering going into business and sellng it to foreigners if I get tonnes). Anyway, I thought that it would be fun to watch them in their race to take over my Korean rooftop. Seen below is a picture of the seeds sent from Patchwork Garden's organic farm (via Megan) on the left and on the right, the basil sent by my loving mother with care and hope for her daughter's happiness. The ones from Mom are just your 'garden variety' package bought at any store, but I think that my mothers beautiful love will make up for the lack of organics involved.
In any case, let the best seed win. The 'bad seed' will still be consumed and enjoyed.
Everyone's a winner! ...except, I suppose, the poor basil that will be blended to pesto in the end.
